Moving the SAL!

I have set up a new blog on Blogger as response to my query seemed mixed. I find Blogger a lot easier for posting pics and editing templates. I hope no one minds.

I’ve sent everyone an invite to the new blog. If you’re no longer interested and wish to be taken off the list, please let me know. Looking forward to seeing some seasonal stitching in our new space!

WordPress or Blogger?

I’ve been wondering about moving the SAL to a Blogger blog. Would people find Blogger easier to use?

Does anyone have any strong feelings one way or another?

Frost Flower

Thanks for the comments on Winter Spell. So motivating, I finished another! I set myself the goal of having 5 finishes by the end of March, so I need to do some small ones (even small ones take me ages now). Also helpful in StRIPping. And having some finishes might help me get my mojo back, I seem to have stalled. Officially, I’m now working on my daughter’s birth sampler, which I think is high time was done (she’s almost 1). But unofficially, I have at least 5 more winter pieces starting at me, so once my floss order comes in, I might alternate a bit to keep me motivated. I’m loving the seasonal pieces, as they can go up right away.

This is Just Nan’s Frost Flower. Stitched with recommended DMC on plain white 32 ct Lugana. Framed in the provided Whimzi frame, less the beads (one fell off and I didn’t like them enough to reglue, so off came the rest).

BTW, if anyone wants this chart or the Winter Spell chart (no frames or charm, obviously), they are free to a good home.

Last Winter’s Finish

red-bird.jpg

I was sorting through some finished cross stitch pieces today with the hope of turning some of them into proper finishes. I’m still suffering with my poor shoulder and my current cross-stitching is very limited so I hope no-one minds me posting a picture of a past winter finish.

I stitched this Redbird Sampler from Bent Creek last year and I think I’ll do a flatfold/easel type finish with it. As it’s wintery rather than Christmassy I’ll  be able to leave it up for a while. The fabric was a very pale cream so I dyed it in coffee (before stitching!). I think it came out rather well.

Am I alone?

Hello stitchers!

I was wondering if it’s only me left in here, since no one has post since the last time I did it to wish you all “Merry Christmas”. I hope it’s not, since the idea of this seasonal sal it’s really a great one, and it’s helping me going on with my many wips.

As you’ll remember I was working on Margaret Sherry’s Calendar Cat, and the last progress I showed you was that of October Cat. It’s grown a little since then even though it’s not finished yet.

Then on November I worked on November Cat which I thought I’d finish on time (it wuold have been the first!), but in the end I didn’t, so here it is unfinshed as all the others.

So here there are the three (unfinished) autumnal cats.

On December I decided to change the subject of my sal, so instead of stitching December cat, I started Forest Snowfall by Little House Needleworks.

New Year, old project! For January I decided to get back to Calendar Cats, so now I’m working on January Cat.

Sorry for this very long post, but I had a lot of belated progress to show you.

I hope to see your progresses soon.

Happy stitching!

Merry Christmas!

I just wanted to wish a Merry Christmas to all the seasonal stitchers and to your families!

No Stocking for Christmas!

Sadly I’ve had to put cross stitch and knitting on hold while the tendonitis in my shoulder heals so no Shepherd’s Bush stocking for my daughter this year. I do plan to restart it slowly after the holidays though, so may yet finish it within the Winter/Spring part of this seasonal sal.

That’s me just finished work for two weeks (hurray!) so now I’m really in the holiday mood!

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

It’s winter/summer!

It’s December so we’re officially in winter/summer (depending on your hemisphere!). Feel free to start new seasonal projects or carry on with your old ones.

I’m going to be stitching Spot of Winter but carrying on with Autumn in my Garden too as I didn’t finish here. I might also do another Winter piece – I haven’t decided yet!

Hedgehogs

Finally I finished this two little guys! It really took me a long time, but one by one I could finish them! They look so lovely! Now I´m going to start with winter and christmas stitching.
